Lorraine is a Creative Specialist at Zola Media, working closely with our Marketing and Design departments. The old adage “you learn something new everyday” is the perfect description of her time here at Zola. Lorraine graduated from St. John’s University in May 2016 Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Journalism and minors in Sociology and Global Studies. She chose a career in media because it truly marries her two interests; creative design and writing.
What makes someone successful in a role like yours?
Organization, proactiveness, and creativity. Working in different departments means staying on top of different tasks, taking initiative, and having the space to exercise some creativity.
What motivates you?
Believing in myself and knowing that I can push myself to be successful in any endeavor.
What are some of your major goals in life?
To genuinely enjoy the work I do and never have to agonizingly countdown the time to the end of my work day. To always have a creative outlet. Also…to get a cat.
Name 3 words to describe the Zola team
Knowledgeable. Passionate. Cool.
What did you want to grow up to be as a kid?
Like every 5-year-old girl, I wanted to be a pop star. I went on to do a few singing competitions and showcases throughout my childhood. I don’t sing publicly anymore, besides my occasional performances of I Wanna Dance With Somebody at karaoke.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Barcelona, Spain. Sun, sea, soccer, and no snow!
